7 Effortless ways to elevate your life
One of the things that make me tick is to understand people. My journey on this Earth has been all about trial and error and experiencing what life brings me. When I was 13 life threw me a huge “curve ball” through health issues which brought me great deal of pain and that were undiagnosed for 15 years and according to current medicine it has no “cure”. That is why I started to look for answers, looked to improve as a human being and started to study and share what I learned with my clients and helping them overcome their own problems.
In this process I learned many valuable lessons, and here are 7 lessons I learned in the process.
1-This too shall pass
Every event in your life unfolds with a distinct beginning, a transitional middle, and an eventual conclusion.
Everything good or bad will pass, and like Guns n’ Roses once said: “…nothing lasts forever even cold November Rain”.
One of the trickiest parts is for you to understand what phase you are at.
2-Don’t sweat on the little things
This is such a tricky one when you are day in, day out, sprinting in the hamster wheel.
Some people are worriers, some people are not, and that is ok.
What happens if you won’t worry? Life still goes on. You need to put things into perspective on what is essential and what is not.
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
3-Don’t judge or compare
Welcome to the 21st century, where everything is about image, liking, posting, commenting and influencing. The human being by nature, with these stimuli will compare himself with the guy he saw on Facebook, or with the influencer he saw on Youtube and will be disappointed.
At the moment you are judging or comparing you are immediately losing against who or what you’re comparing against, because you are spending energy trying to become someone else or the copy of someone else. Don’t waste your energy that way.
4-Discipline leads to freedom
Back in my younger days, when I first stumbled upon this notion, I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes and thought, “Yeah, right! That’s nonsense”
But lo and behold, as the years rolled by and I grew wiser (and maybe just a tad more disciplined), it hit me like a ton of bricks: this stuff is gold! See, with a bit of discipline sprinkled into your daily routine, suddenly, you’re the master of organization, the king or queen of time management! And guess what? More time for yourself means more freedom to do whatever you want! So yeah, discipline may not sound like the life of the party, but trust me, it’s a key to freedom.
5-Progress not perfection
Perfection? Ah, it’s just a figment of the imagination, a mirage in the desert of our minds! If you’re chasing after perfection with stars in your eyes, let me break it to you gently: you’re in for a wild ride of disappointment.
Now if you aim for progress, every day a little bit, then you evolve slowly and steady.
Ie: You want to run the marathon and you push yourself to the limit and collect injuries along the way… now if you run everyday for 20 minutes, you ran for more than 2 hours in the first week and you build on top of it.
6-Be kind to yourself
Life is hard as it is, so if you are being too hard on yourself, will it help you? I don’t think so. I am not saying that you should be completely undisciplined, all I am saying that life is about balance .
Being kind to yourself is like giving yourself a “self-pad” in the back! It’s not only nurturing for your soul but also backed by science! Science says rewards beat punishment any day of the week. So why waste time being hard on yourself? Like L’Oréal slogan to sell shampoos “You’re worth it!”
7-Yes, you can
Every single day, you’re bombarded with “NOs” from all corners—people, society, and funnily enough people close to you are sometimes the ones that doubt you more.
But here’s the thing: maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong. Who knows and who cares? If you don’t try, you don’t get.
It’s all about how much you believe in yourself and how hard you work to make it happen. You’ve got dreams to chase! So ask yourself: do you want to spend your days doing what you love? Well, what are you waiting for? Go out there and show ’em what you’re made of!
The world if full of nay-sayers, so can and want you to do something you love? Yes, you can!
