Clear mind and open heart
Fast and infuriating!
We are in a world were everything is replaceable, immediate and shallow. Information flies like leaves in the wind like never before but without guidance it can never consolidate into wisdom. Thinking and creativity are underrated these days because it’s cheap and we have machines doing it for us.
Plato and the classics will be rolling over in their graves to see that the Dark Ages are the 2020s greatest hits.
Wisdom is not about grades, money or information but the ability to think creatively, critically and constructively about a subject.
This path will take us to many headaches, many criticisms, even being ostracized and ignored but the ability to sleep with a free conscience.
You will realise that you are ignorant, that your certainties shatter for every time you learn a new skill or a new fact.
Plato was right, as always it became evident that “I know that I know nothing”.
Heart and mind!
One of the hardest things is to realise that you were wrong, that you believed in something or someone that fooled you and you were served humble pie.
The truth is that the great thinkers, didn’t need to pay mortgages, didn’t have social media but they talked without the fear of being cancelled.
They also understood the the truth depended from the zeitgeist.
They believed in higher principles, they knew that men were more than clogs in a machine and they followed their clear mind and their open heart.
Open your heart and clear your mind.
Mente sana in corpore sano.
